Fear – a serious heart disease

Definition

  • Fear appears in heart first then it will generate negative thoughts and will trigger our mouth to say “I am afraid”, “But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a man” – Matthew 15:18.
  • When we say it out loud, it will invite whatever we are afraid of to our life. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” – Proverbs 18:21
  • “For the thing that I fear comes upon me, and what I dread befalls me.” – Job 3:25

  • “He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” – Mark 4:40

Lack of Love

Ungrateful

  • “For to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.” – Mark 4:25

Ask and Be Faithful

  • “Ask, and it will be given to you;” “For everyone who asks receives” – Matthew 7:7-8
  • “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” – James 1:6-8
  • “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” – Matthew 7:11
  • “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” – Psalms 37:5

Love All

  • And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” – Matthew 22:37-40
  • “If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” – 1 John 4:20
  • “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” – 1 Corinthians 13:7
  • “No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.” – 1 John 4:12

Do good

  • “By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.” – 1 John 3:10
  • “If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.” – Luke 6:32-35

Be Grateful for what you have

  • “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”- Colossians 3:17
  • “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”” – Hebrews 13:5
  • “But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.” – 1 Timothy 6:6-8

Don’t feel guilty for past doing

  • “I will cleanse them from all the guilt of their sin against me, and I will forgive all the guilt of their sin and rebellion against me. And this city shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and a glory before all the nations of the earth who shall hear of all the good that I do for them. They shall fear and tremble because of all the good and all the prosperity I provide for it.” – Jeremiah 33:8-9
  • “But the Lord says, “Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago. Watch for the new thing I am going to do. It is happening already—you can see it now! I will make a road through the wilderness and give you streams of water there.” – Isaiah 43:18-19

Be happy

  • “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” – Psalms 37:4
  • “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.” – Philippians 4:4
  • “Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God.” – Ecclesiastes 5:19
  • “Enjoy life with the wife whom you love, all the days of your vain life that he has given you under the sun, because that is your portion in life and in your toil at which you toil under the sun.” – Ecclesiastes 9:9

Side effects of treatment

  • Trials

Trials

  • “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. – James 1:2-4
  • “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” – James 1:12

To defeat Trials

  • Build your house on the rock

Build your house on the rock

  • “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.” – Matthew 7:24-25
  • “And others are the ones sown among thorns. They are those who hear the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.” – Mark 4:18-19

“Israel, the Lord who created you says, “Do not be afraid—I will save you. I have called you by name—you are mine. When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through fire, you will not be burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt you.”

Isaiah 43:1-2
